- Visitors who are visually-impaired, who may use access technologies such as a voice screen reader, or who wish to override the default font sizes and page colours so it is clearer to their eyes.
- Visitors who use an Internet set-top box connected to a standard television rather than a fully-fledged computer to access the Internet.
- Visitors who use a hand-held device such as a Personal Data Assistant or Pocket PC where the screen format is small and may have a tall rather than wide display.
- Visitors with a slow Internet data connection such as available over a mobile cellular phone network.
The HTML code is as short as possible so that pages are available quickly over a slow Internet connection.
